Your responsibilities for the projects you have been assigned: Be the owner of the total product cost of ownership including material, labor and tooling; Be a strong leader within the Engineering, Operations and Top Management communities during product development, in order to drive down total cost of ownership of products; Drive the "make or buy" decision process at system and/or sub-assembly level; Select the suppliers you are in charge of and negotiate with them all technical and business deliverables; Drive suppliers' results through a teamwork during the development cycle on the programs you work on; Be responsible for the sourcing strategy of one or several technologies and build market and technology know-how; Anticipate the business needs by working closely with Design, Operations and Marketing teams to get the most efficient inbound supply chain for new products influencing early design decisions; Travel to different supplier locations in Europe, USA and Asia to manage the business. Key Metrics: Material, labor and tooling cost; Partner capability assessment, and purchase agreements; New product introduction supply chain deliverables during different stages of development; Timely introduction of new products and timely transfer of procurement deliverables to Production team; End user customer satisfaction (reliability, field return rate). Master's degree level (or equivalent) in a business-related subject, engineering or a related technical field; 3+ years experience in system development, advanced sourcing or manufacturing engineering activities; Demonstrated direct and indirect management skills; Remote management experience with USA and/or Asia would be a strong plus; Excellent communication skills in English; German speaking candidates will be given priority; Willingness to travel (25%).
