Reporting to the General Engineering Purchasing Manager Europe you are in charge of the purchasing activities related to a series of major CAPEX investments throughout Europe related to new greenfield plants and revamping of existing and acquired plants. As such you will assist acquisition of equipment, parts and services while achieving lowest possible cost and maintaining quality and technical specifications. You will also assist vendor communications and management, tightly coordinated with project engineers, local country team, legal and finance departments for local purchase, as well give assistance to the general purchase manager for major purchases and long-term agreements. You will follow up all needed administrative acts to ensure a smooth ordering process. In particular you are responsible for next duties: " Negotiate optimum cost/value agreement with vendors as well as negotiate and manage contract terms for minor local purchases. " Assist in evaluation, selection, and monitoring of suppliers based on quality, reliability, and cost. Assist in the development of partnerships. " Assist in Development and implementation company purchasing policies and procedures. " Give administrative support to create major orders and contracts. " Handling purchase requisitions and purchase orders in SAP. " Drive for standardization and optimization of procurement in new projects. " Coordinate for on-site inspection of vendors. Coordinate and monitor any corrective action. " Develop the best strategies and buying arrangements for Knauf Insulation through continuous development of market knowledge and contacts for new products and services. You have a University degree/industrial engineer level and a proven track record in purchasing or materials management preferably in the manufacturing device industry, ideally in an international context. You have a good knowledge of local and regional vendors. You have strong negotiation skills. You are highly professional, you have tenacity, the ability to manage and account for the details without getting lost in them. You have Project Management skills. You have strong organizational and interpersonal skills and combine strong analytical skills with good business judgment. You are fluent in English plus at least one other European language, preferable the local language.
