Description As a Commissioning Manager you lead the Site commissioning organization. You develop the commissioning strategy and manage its implementation at the plant. You manage the commissioning phase of various projects and assure the factory acceptance testing at the client. You act as the primary interface between the commissioning team, other Knauf organizations and the plant organization at a management level and support negotiations with local authorities. In particular you are responsible for next duties: - To ensure that safe systems of work are developed for all site commissioning activities, including implementation of the "Permit to Work" system as required by the site conditions. - To monitor safety for man and equipment during complete commissioning time. - To ensure that the commissioning team members are thoroughly familiar with the technical content of contractual documents, contractors' and client's procedures and construction schedules as they relate to the overall commissioning activity. - To develop the commissioning strategy and systems definitions. - To develop the commissioning program, manage its implementation and ensure that adequate resources have been allocated. - To review the construction program and systems completion dates and confirm their acceptability for commissioning, advising any deficiencies to the Construction Manager - To manage the activities of the commissioning team through the completion of construction and commissioning phases of the project. - To provide commissioning input during the testing, check-out and punch listing phase of construction. - To provide commissioning input, when required, during start-up and the initial operations phase of the project. - To monitor the content of contractors' documentation to ensure that the correct standard is available during system check-out and that the correct systems test procedures and acceptance certification are being used. - To ensure the production and maintenance of records of testing and acceptance certification for the systems being tested and to ensure that the 'Hold' and 'Witness' provisions are being met. - To provide technical liaison and to resolve technical problems as they arise from construction, engineering, inspection, vendor visits, QA and the statutory authorities. - To chair daily and weekly meetings concerning the commissioning. - To issue a monthly report in accordance with the project requirements. - To ensure that the commissioning team personnel are productive in their work and that proper training is provided when necessary. - To request vendor assistance when approved and to manage and co-ordinate these activities at site. - To co-ordinate vacations and absences of commissioning team personnel at site. - To authorize commissioning team personnel time sheets. - To conduct personnel performance evaluations in accordance with company requirements.
