| Description |
The Controller is within a Region responsible for the effective and reliable operation of accounting including general accounting under direct supervision of a Senior Controller, and acts as Back up for the other Controllers in the Area. The Controller is responsible and acting as local point in the area and is responsible facilitating the compliance with US GAAP, local statutory and legal reporting requirements, and he keeps close contact with Business Controllers and Business Analysts' on matters related to gross profit. The main tasks - Ensure compliance with US GAAP / Belgium GAAP requirements / SOX / Tax Compliance and Coordinate activities to comply with other local reporting (ensures SOX compliance for the locations in the region) - Control & Maintenance G/L accounts; Document Year-end Balance Sheet Specifications (reconciliation, G/L account breakdown, supporting documentation); - Perform closing of the entities according to F&C closing schedule and in line with both US GAAP and internal accounting guide lines; - Prepare quantitative and qualitative financial analysis of monthly operating results and report to Senior Area Controller before submission of results to F&C Closing Team; - Identify, coordinate and monitor country specific Legal & Statutory requirements, Compile Statutory Accounts and Tax Returns, and adjust Post US GAAP / Local GAAP / Tax Books; - Coordinate activities to comply to other local reporting, maintain contacts with Work Council, prepare local Management Board Meetings; - Identify, valuate and quantify any Internal risks, maintain contact with external and internal auditors; - Participate in special (ad-hoc) projects; Experience - Professional level of knowledge of modern accounting practices; - Familiar with US GAAP reporting; - Good understanding of Belgium GAAP reporting and tax regulations; - Good understanding of the use and application of ERP systems (SAP pre) and other I.T. (Excel, Word); - Minimum of 3 years of relevant financial experience in a multinational environment or Big 4 audit firms; - Experience with Internal Controls (SOX pre); - Willingness to travel (up to 25%); - Pro-active, hands on mentality, convincing, motivated and team player; - Fluent in English (both verbal and written) and Dutch.
