The Manufacturing Controller is responsible for the financial activity including reporting of manufacturing/financial results of eight plants. In addition, the Controller is responsible for the accounting of other business transactions, maintaining a satisfactory system of internal controls at the plant and providing general financial support to the Plant and European Manufacturing Management. This position also provides communication and support for Corporate, Business and Plant objectives, and it oversees several activities such as general accounting, cost accounting and budgeting. The Manufacturing Controller has a direct reporting line to the responsible Senior Controller. The Manufacturing Controller has a close relationship with the local plant management and the European Manufacturing Manager. The Manufacturing Controller will have supervision over one Assistant Controller. The main tasks -Financial reporting, analysis and forecasting of operational results for the plant. Responsible for the reporting of business information, analysis of variances and forecasting of monthly plant cost and yield performance, inventory levels and cost of sales adjustments. -Manufacturing Controller prepares budgets and forecasts and is responsible for assembling and analyzing the plant budget. -Responsible for financial analysis of capital projects and fixed assets. This financial analysis should support the division's financial goals and objectives. -Responsible for the compliance with U.S. GAAP and Corporate accounting policies. -If applicable, assist in the analysis and evaluate business projects and capital investments as requested. -Ensure compliance with US GAAP / Local GAAP requirements / SOX Compliance; -The preparation of specifications/reconciliations and documentation of all submitted financial data, e.g. the financial statements; -Control & Maintenance of G/L accounts; Closing Activitities -Perform closing of the entities according to closing schedule and in line with both US GAAP and internal accounting guide lines; -Post month end (plant related) journals; -Run plant related technical closing in SAP; -Post any corrective entries that are needed based on monitoring of the financial results during the month and closing; -Prepare quantitative and qualitative financial analysis of monthly operating results and report to Senior Area Controller before submission of results to Closing Team; Other tasks -Keep close contact with Business Controllers and Business Analysts' on matters related to gross profit e.g. monitor sales accruals, take corrective actions in operating results, propose accounting solutions for new business requirements, like carve-outs; -Maximizing SAP functionality at a local plant level in order to streamline / standardize plant and business processes. -Contact with external and internal auditors; -Identify, valuate and quantify any Internal ri |
