As a Datawarehouse specialist, you will join the Data Warehouse projects team which is responsible for the sales, financial and operational reporting systems using DWH. You will be primarily responsible for the operational support of the reporting data warehouse systems and environments. Essential responsibilities: * Assures availability of databases for production and for development activities. * Monitors the daily ETL activities to the Datawarehouse. * Controls the activities related to database planning and usage. Establishes policies and procedures pertaining to its management, security, maintenance, and utilization. Sets and monitors standards. * Confers with all technical levels regarding problems with and capabilities of various databases. Advises managers on database concepts and functional capabilities. Recommends systems and SQL changes to development management. Implements performance tuning for applications by defining indexes or reviewing the SQL. * Prepares periodic reports regarding database administration and support activities. * Confers with all technical levels regarding problems with and capabilities of various internally used databases. * Implements SQL scripts, triggers, PL/SQL packages, data model changes and can perform data conversion when required by Publitec. A degree (or equivalent) in computing, engineering, mathematics or other science-based subject, A minimum of 2 years experience of SQL, PL/SQL and database development A minimum of 2 years database administration experience; experience or demonstrated affinity with DWH and BI projects. General knowledge of database administration, programming, and systems analysis procedures. Broad knowledge of database software and operating systems. Good knowledge of Windows 2000/2003 and Oracle 9/10. Knowledge of the concepts, architecture and structure of DataWarehouse models. Fluently in verbal and written English. Ability to take initiative, flexible and result driven. Good interpersonal -, communication skills, ability to work in a team. Desired: Previous experience with DWH Development in an Oracle environment Previous experience with PL/SQL and/or Oracle Warehouse Builder or another ETL tool Familiarity with reporting tools such as MicroStrategy, Business Objects Previous experience in working in an international environment is an advantage. Valid Dutch work permit.
