Reporting to the VP Sales, the Commercial Director (EU) will have the following principle duties and responsibilities: - Manage the customer relationships at senior levels with existing clients across Europe and generate sales growth through new applications and acceptance of the company's value proposition; - Effectively utilise a system of key account managers, who have responsibility for day-to-day customer relationships in different countries; - Handle, in partnership with the Manufacturing Director, the transition from customer reliance on General Managers to forging a strong relationship with commercial, enabling plants to focus on manufacturing excellence; - Responsible for the negotiation of long-term agreements that support brand strategy and profit goals; - Develop and ensure the effective implementation of Howmet Alcoa's European commercial strategy, in line with overall objectives; - Form close working relationships with key internal players in a matrix environment to aid the development of overall strategy and achieve business goals. Interesting candidates for this position will possess the following personal and professional attributes: - A university degree in a relevant discipline; Masters preferred; - At least ten years of multi-country experience in a commercial environment; pan-European experience preferred; - Intellectual curiosity and the intelligence to understand complex manufacturing processes; - Specific experience in the investment castings industry, aerospace or industrial gas turbines markets would be a plus, but is not essential; - Proven success in the training, motivation and development of multi-cultural team; - Fluency in English and French is essential.
