Description Reporting directly to the Senior Manager Supplier Quality, you are in charge of developing new and improving existing production processes from early test stages until production stability at Toyota's suppliers. You set-up a program that enables parts providers to correctly and smoothly supply different kind of parts to the Toyota organization from pre-production into mass production and maintaining that supply. Your responsibilities are not solely in project management, but deeply rooted in the industrial and practical organization of the supplier. In particular you are responsible for next duties: - Work with a team of motivated peers who each take into account portion of the car specifics (interior, exteriors, chassis, engine) and the development activities of up to 20 suppliers throughout Europe. - Provide coaching and leadership to engineers in that team, who also manage their own portfolio of suppliers. - Provide the link between TME and its component suppliers. - Keep track of the evolution of the supplier throughout the project milestones. - Identify the gaps and assist the suppliers in their resolution. - Assess the risk zones on these projects. - Support the suppliers to attain proper productivity and quality in mass production. - Provide supplier troubleshooting if necessary in productive stage. - Keep track with the internal projects, through extensive internal communication and consultation. - Achieving higher productivity, component availability, and higher quality, these projects require almost daily travel to the component manufacturing units in order to keep in touch with specific needs and to evaluate production of Toyota's components on site. - Continuously promote innovations and improvements, and ensure on-time preparation following Toyota Production System manufacturing techniques such as "Just in Time". You have a Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering with at least 5 years experience in a logistics, quality or production department, preferably in the automotive industry or in a mass production environment. A shop floor experience is a major asset. You have good project management skills, excellent communication skills, including negotiation skills and active listening. You have excellent all-round technical and practical skills with a hands-on approach, flexible mind. You are analytical, stress resistant and willing to travel extensively throughout Europe as you are based in Brussels, but travel about 40-50% of your time. You are fluent in English is required; knowledge of any additional language is an asset.
